Facet Joint Injections

Our spine contains interlocking components that allow it to bend and move.  The three main parts are the vertebrae, spinal discs, and facet joints.  The facet joints are between each vertebra and allow free dynamic movement as needed.  Due to the complexity of our musculoskeletal system, it can sometimes be difficult to identify the main source or cause of back or neck pain.  Inflammation is almost always involved in back or neck pain which can be caused by arthritis, disc/vertebrae damage, or facet degeneration.  In order to create an effective treatment plan, the primary pain generator must be identified.
