Neuropathy treatment in Hazlet, NJ

Understanding the condition
Imagine Life without the Debilitating Pain of Neuropathy
Peripheral Neuropathy is a very common problem that over 20 million people in the U.S. suffer from. Customary treatments can range anywhere from over the counter drugs such as Ibuprofen or Aspirin, to even more invasive measures such as surgery to reduce pain and discomfort. Neuropathy is a vast collection of disorders caused by damage to the peripheral nervous system (PNS). Most commonly, Neuropathy affects the arms/hands and/or legs/feet and are usually categorized as neurological (nerve damage) or vascular-based (venous damage).
Some of the most common issues that are associated with Neuropathy are diabetes, chemotherapy, prolonged medication use, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, alcoholism and trauma but unfortunately for many, the cause is unknown. Management of neuropathy can vary depending on the cause, but the sooner the symptoms are addressed the better the outcome.

Diagnosing your neuropathy
Electrodiagnostic Studies (NCV/EMG)
Tests the electrical activity of suspected nerves and muscles to detect nerve damage; usually takes no longer than 15 minutes to perform.
Ultrasound Testing
Performed on the veins in the lower extremities when necessary, to determine if venous reflux is affecting circulation and nerve function.
MRI & Blood Work
Used when needed to assess muscle quality, rule out other abnormalities, and detect vitamin/mineral deficiencies, diabetes markers, or auto-immune conditions.
Our approach
How we treat neuropathy
Under the Neuropathy treatment umbrella, we may recommend a combination of therapies to treat the painful causes of Neuropathy.
Peripheral Nerve Blocks & Regenerative Medicine
Non-steroidal anesthetic injections that improve circulation around the nerves; can be combined with PRP, Stem Cells, Amniotic Fluid or Exosomes to enhance the therapeutic effect.
Neuro – Muscle Stimulation
Delivers a specific electrical frequency and amplitude to target damaged nerves, decrease nerve pain, and reduce nerve irritation.
Electro – Acupuncture
Combines Neuro-Muscle Stimulation with traditional acupuncture to decrease inflammation, improve circulation, and stimulate damaged nerve fibers.
Low Level Laser Therapy
Delivers a specific frequency of light to create a photoelectric effect at the nerve membrane, reducing inflammation and improving circulation.
Whole Body Vibration Therapy
Heightens balance and coordination while reducing soreness and stiffness in the feet, and helps restore circulation to the extremities.
Manual Therapy
Soft Tissue Mobilization, Strain-Counterstrain and Joint Mobilization to stimulate blood flow, enhance lymphatic drainage and promote healing.
Physical Therapy
Exercises, stretches and restorative therapy techniques to improve balance, strength, and range of motion.
Lifestyle Counseling
A three-fold nutrition process — diet, exercise and nutrient deficiencies — producing a personalized plan for long term wellness.

No. You can request an appointment directly online or by calling (732) 264-2233. If your plan requires a referral for a specific service, our staff will tell you when they verify your benefits.
Only if the examination indicates they are needed. Digital X-ray is in-house, so imaging happens during the same visit rather than at a separate facility on another day.
Our approach is built around non-surgical, drug-free care. Your clinician explains each step before it happens and adjusts the plan to what you can tolerate.
Medication reduces symptoms without addressing the underlying condition. Our treatments contribute to the healing of the injured structure and restoring health and function, rather than just providing short term relief of the symptoms.
